  1. My opinion on the Trayvon Martin case is that it was a tragedy. I knew Trayvon Martin and I never thought that anything like this could happen to somebody that was close to me. To me George Zimmerman can’t say it was self-defense because he was the aggressor in this situation. The police told him not to follow Trayvon and he took it upon himself to approach him. I don’t feel that it was a hate crime but I do feel like Trayvon’s race had something to do with Zimmerman saying he was a “suspicious” character and him wanting to approach him. I think that George Zimmerman should be arrested and the people over the police department and Sanford should be fired.

  2. My opinion on Trayvon Martin was that it is a disappointment how they have the odasity to say the gun just “went off” being in possession of a gun should take forth responsibility that the policemen should be having and otherwise should go to jail ,n o doubt. I believe it is a very racial situation and an eye opener to others that think racial bullying stopped. It actually hasn’t and should def. be something that’s more talked about. We shouldn’t be based on color because one did not choose to be the color they are with that being said cases like this are unfair and terrifying for other African American children. We should speak more about interracial situations and let children know that it is okay to have any kind of interaction with a African American and so. Parents have a huge influence on a kids perspective as they grow older. Its wrong, its unacceptable and it’s a shame it occurred.

  3. I feel if your walking down the street with a hoodie on and an bag of skittles and a Arizona that you can actually harm someone, that's crazy i believe that zimmerman should be locked up for the rest of his life. He's trying to say trayvon did something bad to him first but I don't think that's true, and I believe noone else should think its true, he was a great young man. He did bad things in the past and then Thats the dirt they tried to put on him. These people need to really stop being so mean to trayvon people , and do what they have to do to lock Zimmerman up FOREVER, I think the reason they will not lock him up is because they know as soon as he step foot in that jail house that's the end of it for him, but they shouldn't feel sorry for him, because of what he did was the worst thing to do. Zimmerman the type of person that really only care about himself and loved ones, he really don't like black people. They was suppose to lock him up right away, they wasn't suppose to get his point of view because if it was they other way around trayvon would of been in jail no questions asked. I'm ending my blog saying, Zimmerman need's to be locked up ASAP!!!!!!

The whole Trayvon Martin case is a very touchy subject. Only the Lord, Trayvon, and George Zimmerman knew exactly what happened that night, but unfortunately another young black man is killed. This is a huge problem nowadays, something we as a people need to overcome. Who knows if George is innocent or not? We all know that he pulled the trigger, and killed someone. He should at least be questioned about it. The whole situation is messed up, clearly. My views about this are very mixed, and my heart definitely goes out to Trayvon's family and the people supporting them. Justice is blind and does not discriminate, it's something we all deserve.

  5. The Trayvon Martin case is one of the more radical cases that have come to court as of late. To me it is another example of things that we probably won't get to know the whole story, we won't know what really did happen. Zimmerman will be questioned on it, sure, but it all depends on what the people trying him want to hear and what they want to know. I for one think that it is one of the biggest examples of what the racial stereotypes that we ourselves have created are capable of doing. People say that it's not a black white thing it's a right wrong thing, well they're right, but the reason for what ever happened was the black white thing. I hope that this'll show people what stereotypes are capable of, so they know why they should stop.

  6. This Trayvon Martin case is a sticky situation. There was no witnesses the night of this incident which has everybody including me skeptical about this. So I can't take anybody's side on this but the story is Trayvon is minding his own business when he gets shot by a self appointed neighborhood guard. I think the man is taking his guard duty a little too serious. It just shows we still have racism and discrimination in this world. I'm just in shock that they have not put this man behind bars. He still murdered a kid without argument. The man is guilty until he has proof that the kid was causing trouble in the neighborhood.

I think that it is shocking that a minor can be killed and there is no trial held to determine the guilt of the killer. Surely it is not the role of the police to decide someone’s innocence in a killing, that is what the courts are for. For the police to act as the judge seems to be overstepping their purpose. A child is killed, a trial should be held to determine the facts and establish whether it was a murder. In Zimmerman's case, just because he thought Trayvon looked suspicious and just roaming the neighborhood he didn’t obey the operator’s commands to not pursue Trayvon. I’m pretty sure he was told to wait and police were on the way. He took matters into his own hands and got into a fight with him and lead to his killing. I think Zimmerman is wholly to blame for this. I believe that Trayvon was racially profiled by Mr. Zimmerman and had no real reason to be shot. My heart goes out to his family.

On my personal opinion with the case of Trayvon Matin was something really impacting and horrible. I think that even when they do not know what happen yet, is not fair to kill someone and less a kid of just 17 years old. We do not know yet what was the actually conflict between them. But I think that Zimmerman should be in jail, because first of all he was the one following Trayvon and second why would he have a gun?
Maybe Trayvon did was aggressor but not because of that you can kill someone. In conclusion I feel really sorry about Trayvon and his family. Zimmereman should go to jail.

  9. This case was so sad when i found out about what happen the first thought that came to my mind was how unffair this was. A kid as young as us was shot just because a security guy or neighborhood watch guy what ever he calls himself thought this boy was up to no good. Honestly no one really knows the truth but i think it was not self defense what was the kid doing to the man..? nothing! so why would it be self defense . something that disturbed me the most is why was a man like that carrying a gun? he's just a watch man no one else. Not a cop, no one. obviously if a kid see's a man like him following him he/ she is going to run away , i would. I think zimmerman should go to prison.

  10. The shooting of Trayvon Martin was on February 26,2012 in Sanford, Florida. This 17 year-old boy was an unarmed African American. He was shot and killed by a Caucasian/Latin America man named George Zimmerman, who is about 28 years old. Trayvon was just had got out of a 7-Eleven and was heading to his father’s fiancés house when George (a community watch coordinator) shot him. George stated “he was walking about acting suspicious and doing black things” That was a statement from his part that took my breath away, can people really be this cold towards others. We are talking about a kid who was walking home with a bag of skittles and an ice tea on him, what black things can he do? And what are black things anyway? This is an injustice, and a horrible tragedy. And for the record of it in my opinion Martins killing has absolutely nothing to do with a presidential election. Some politicians and high profiles are hoping that his killing will impart voter sympathy toward Obama. Racism is electing Obama because a black boy was shot unjustly. How dare anyone monopolize on a murder to serve any political purpose.

    3. My opinion this Trayvon Martin case is that when he was chilling at home watching the NBA AllStar game he wanted to go to the store and get an Arizona Iced Tea and a bag of skittles. This is what I learned that if you see someone walk down the street with a hoodie on and they reach into their pocket and grab something for ex: an knife or gun an officer will shoot the person even though trayvon didn’t have that he got shot by an officer that should be in jail right now. This was a hate crime but at least we know this was an accident that should even happened. This is what I learned from the travyvon martin case. This is all I remember.

  11. I honestly don't really know how to express my opinion on this case. It's one thing to be using self defense and defend yourself from some type of harm. But from the proof that has been given and to the best of my knowledge on this case, I don't understand how going to such an extent as to killing Trayvon is a way of self defense. Trayvon is a kid. What could he possibly be capable of? well, actually let me rephrase that because now a days young kids are capable of almost anything. But realistically speaking, there is a whole phone call conversation between Zimmerman and the police and he even admitted to following him. like that is so unnecessary. Zimmerman should be in the middle of a huge trial but instead the government is sitting on their butts letting this slowly fade. But what they don't know is that people are going to continue to fight for justice for Trayvon Martin.

  12. I feel as though the Trayvon Martin Case is not even a real case. In a real case, action would have already been taken. Troy Davis was a black man accused of killing a white police officer named Mark MacPhail and was sentenced to death without absolute proof that he was guilty. While there is absolute proof that George Zimmerman shot a 17 year old boy, he is still a free man. I’m not saying that Trayvon Martin is neither innocent nor guilty of anything. The fact of the matter is that he is dead, and we will never know his side of the story. But knowing for a fact that Zimmerman killed Trayvon, self-defense or not, is all we need to know. If Troy Davis got the death sentence, so should George Zimmerman.

  13. I believe that the Trayvon Martin case was deffinatley a hate crime case. I believe that for many reasons. Even though we don't have slavery anymore, we don't discriminate black people anymore there are still racist in the world that always judge black or ANY color people without knowing them first. My friends knew Trayvon Martin personally and said that he was a GREAT student, he would never do anything to harm anyone or kill anybody either. There is proof of the whole incident about Martin and Zimmerman. We could hear his screams and pleading for help. Now you tell me, if i was robbing something and I was running as fast as I can, you think I would cry for help? Think again, I would have busted my butt, sprinting trying to find a place that police wouldn't find me. Trayvon was crying for help because he knew he was in trouble and no one helped him. If it was self defense there wouldn't be any cries of help. Therefore the crime was purposely to kill the kid and get it done with. I had no idea that walking with a hoodie on eating skittles and drinking arizona tea was such a crime. I actually go out in public like that and people never accused of me doing anything wrong. You know why? Because I'm white. If I was black, i would have gotten a few stares and people talking accusing me of something. Lesson to be learned: Don't accuse someone because of their colors, because color has nothing to do with your identity. Don't judge a book by it's cover. We all heard this line before and it should be used and learned more often. It shows how society has become ignorant to ignore the quote since everyone judges everyone. At school, at work, everywhere. It's a shame. I stand for Trayvon Martin and support him all the way.

  14. I believe that in the Trayvon Martin case George Zimmerman should be arrested and found guilty of murder. I do not believe that Zimmerman shot him in self-defense. I think that Zimmerman was following Martin for no reason at all of being suspicious or anything and Zimmerman had a bad day and that Martin just turned around and asked why he was following him and Zimmerman got mad and shot Trayvon. The Martin family should have justice and the police should arrest Zimmerman for now because even though he was a watch man he should not just go and shoot someone without permission. It was most likely a hate crime in my opinion.

  15. Definitely, Trayvon's death is universally acknowledged as an unnecessary tragedy. I do really feel sorry for Trayvon, his family, and the black community in general. There is no excuse for this death other than the vigilante right wing values and actions of citizens using shameful law to allow hatred or racist actions. In my opinion, having a deadly weapon in one's possession means that you must be held to a higher standard of caution in one's actions and accountability for it. You shouldn't get to have the power without the accompanying responsibility. From my own perspective, the only thing that is clear here is that there should be a thorough investigation before conclusions are reached. In the meantime, a life has been lost and a tragedy has befallen a family, regardless of the outcome of the investigation.

  16. I think the shooting of Trayvon Martin is a true tragity. I think it's awful that a kid was murdered just because. I think this tragity was a complete and total hate crime. Just because the innocent kid had on a hoody and "looked suspicious" doesnt justify the murder of a young child. In my opinion i strongly believe that there is still racisism in the world and as days go by it grows and get stronger and the death of Trayvon just proves that what i think is right. Its sad that his murderer, George Zimmerman, was not immediately captured because it was supposedly self defence. In conclusion i think this was a hate crim and its horrible on the family that has to continue living without their young family member.

  17. My Opinion on the Trayvon Martin case is that it’s a tragic situation to see how someone you were connected through family or friends has a big effect on someone. One thing about the case was that I didn’t like and understand why would someone tell or bring up trayvons past last year of 2011 school year. The things that were saying that he was a kid who was taking drugs , robbing house and bring drugs to school. To me those things said about trayvon aren’t going to justify why he got shot and is dead today. The only way justice will be served is if George Zimmerman confesses that he was really trying to kill trayvon and that it wasn’t self-defense but if Zimmerman doesn’t go jail I think in my opinion someone will try kill Zimmerman just so they can get JUSTICE!

  18. It was heartbreaking to hear what happened to Trayvon and it just goes to show that racial tension is far from over in this country. What Trayvon did was that he was crying for help because he knew he was in trouble and no one helped him. This was him in self defense. In my opinion George Zimmerman should be arrested or and found guilty of murder. Instead of progressing, the United States seems to be going backwards in terms of civil rights, politics and religion. When will we become the UNITED in the United States, and stop all this violence and hate?

  19. I think this situation is absolutely ridiculous because of how long it's taking to put George Zimmerman in jail. Trayvon Martin was minding his own business walking from the store and all he had was a bag of skittles, Arizona iced tea, and a hoodie on. I honestly believe if the tables were turned and it was a black man and a white child this case wouldn't be so difficult to conclude. The black man would be in jail without a doubt because it was a child involved and they were white. However, what I don't understand is how can George Zimmerman say it was self-defense and he's the one who got out of his car approached the boy and was told by the dispatcher to not follow him but he disobeyed and did it anyways. I mean right then and there that should've been a reason to immediately put him in jail for continuing to follow the boy after he'd been told not to do so and he killing him. Think of it in Trayvon's point of view your walking and a stranger in a car comes out and confronts and attacks you won't you fight back? Of course. This case was not self-defense it was a hate crime and George Zimmerman should be put in jail no questions asked.

  20. Most Americans believe that racism is no longer an issue; that it is all in the past, but the truth is racism is still very real, and this case is a perfect example of it. Zimmerman saw a young black man in a private community, and immediately came to the conclusion that he was up to no good. Officials have said that Trayvon Martin was unarmed. Zimmerman claims he shot in “self-defense,” but if Trayvon was unarmed, what was he defending himself from? Trayvon’s side of the story will never be heard. I believe this was a hate crime, and it has been said that Zimmerman, being the only one part of the “neighborhood watch patrol,” has called the police numerous times because of similar occurrences. This was definitely a crime of prejudice and stereotyping. A black young man in a hoodie shouldn’t be labeled “suspicious.” Trayvon deserves justice so that he can rest in peace.

    ReplyDelete
  21. My opinion on the Trayvon Martin case was a tragedy. He died because Zimmerman thought he looks “suspicious”. My belief on this case Zimmerman could have been a racist guy. Because when you hear the 911 call that he made, he kept repeating himself saying he was a black guy. Most people believe for you to be racist you have to be white. But that is not true; you can be any race and be racist. I believe that Zimmerman should be arrested. Because you can’t expect to kill someone after following them and been told by the law enforcement not to do so, and be free. Since crime scene investigation has to follow procedures in order to convict that someone is a murderer they should at least charge him with Manslaughter. I personally can say that it was a hate crime or self-defense because only God, Zimmerman, and Trayvon knew what happened that night. But I do believe justice should be serve and the law should change.

  22. In my opinion what happened to Trayvon Martin it was just a hate crime. There was no reason for George Zimmerman to have shot Trayvon, he didn’t do anything wrong all he had in his hands was an Arizona ice tea and skittles. I think this was just a typical racist man seeing a black kid at night walking around with a hoodie so he just assumed he would have a gun in his pocket but if it was a white kid I’m sure Zimmerman wouldn’t have shot him or followed him or anything. Trayvon didn’t deserve to die the way he did no one should ever have to die like that. They should of sent Zimmerman to jail already.

  23. although i can not say for sure that the Trayvon case was a hate crime or not i could say that the police needs to do more to find out the truth. I believe that there is still racisim out there but i am not sure whether it is true in this case or not. If it is true that George Zimmerman did this out of hate then he should be sent to jail right away. But if not then the police needs to clear his name. I guess God is the only one that knows for sure, and he will be the one to judge him.

  24. In my opinion, I feel Trayvon Martin's case but a giant controversial hate crime case. I think people are looking at this as a form of racism and I believe what the people say, I think it is a racism case, for George Zimmerman just to shoot him I think it's because he was scared of a teenage African American in a hoodie and decided to pull the trigger. People defend George Zimmerman, I think they're really ridiculous to take sides with him, if he doesn't have any cuts and bruises, no scar on his head from being "beaten on the sidewalk", we know for a fact he shot him because he's racist. I think the system is screwed up because they should just put him in jail and case closed. But, since it's a black vs. Latin, it's gonna be a long case. RIP TRAYVON MARTIN, you're in a better place.

  25. The whole Trayvon Martin case is a very touchy subject. No one can really know what happened that night except Trayvon and George Zimmerman but unfortunately someone else was killed. It happens often that people are so stereotypical. I think as gererations go by it happens less but still happens. No one knows if George is innocent or not? We all know that he shot and killed someone. He should at least be questioned about it. My views are mixed, but I feel sorry for Trayvon's family and friends. My opinion on the Trayvon Martin Case is that it’s very controversial and confusing because nobody but Trayvon, George Zimmerman, and God knows what really happened that day. I personally believe what George Zimmerman did was wrong, but like I said, nobody knows what happened. Why Zimmerman had a gun is very mind bobbling, but at the end, someone got shot and killed for this. Believing in a stereotype is one thing, but doing something like George Zimmerman did was very uncalled for and wrong. I believe he should go to jail for what he has done and to show everyone that every person that looks suspicious isn’t a bad person.

  27. I think the Trayvon Martin case is a really sad thing to hear about. I do not think George Zimmerman was using self defense I personally think it was a hate crime. He had no reason to be following a 17 year old boy that wasn't even messing with him. Zimmerman was not a police so I don't feel it was right for him to even have a gun on him. I think he should be arrested for taking the life of an innocent kid. He didn't even listen to the police when they told him to leave the boy alone and go home. r.i.p Trayvon Martin

  28. We will probably never know what actually happened. Trayvon was just walking out of a store with a hooded jacket on and ended up being killed. It is sad how someone can think badly or be suspicious of another person for wearing a hoodie. Zimmerman will be questioned about this, but in the end, his fate depends on the people trying him. In my opinion, I don’t believe Zimmerman had good intentions. He had been arrested before, but the charges were dropped. Whether is was self-defense or by accident, he had a gun, and a young boy ended up dead.

    ReplyDelete
  29. My opinion of the Trayvon Martin case is that its neither a self-defense or hate crime. It can’t be self-defense because George Zimmerman was never threatened by Trayvon, and I don’t believe it’s a hate crime because Zimmerman never admitted he hated African American people. Zimmerman was a neighborhood patrol who thought he found someone who matched the description of someone they were looking for. Zimmerman was clearly told by the police not to approach Trayvon, but instead he did. Because of Zimmerman’s poor decision he ended up killing someone and should be charged with murder. He took an innocent life and should be treated like a murder like everyone else, instead of being able to be discharged. He was discharged because they believe it was self-defense but it couldn’t be because all Trayvon had on him was skittles and a Arizona. Also you could hear on a tape Trayvon screaming out for help. To me it looks like Zimmerman wanted to make the catch but because Trayvon was trying to defend himself and get away, and Zimmerman didn’t want him to go free he kills him. Zimmerman thought he did something good but instead he ruined his life. And lastly Zimmerman could of shot Trayvon in the leg or something , he didn’t have to kill him; so there could be some other motive Zimmerman had that he did that, but you can see Taryvon was no treat to no one. Zimmerman should get the full sentence.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think the Trayvon case is a tragedy and a hate crime. You have a man named Zimmerman claiming self defense and he was the one assaulting Trayvon. The police operator clearer told him not to follow Trayvon but he still did it. All the boy had was a bag of skittles and arizona ice tea, i dont know how that can be used as a weapon. This case really shows that there's still racism in the world no matter what people say. Zimmerman is still free walking around on this earth while a innoncent 17 year old is dead, with his family and friends heart still filled with unjustice and sorrow.

  31. The Treyvon Martin case is really sad. It really isn’t fair that a 17 year old black kid is shot just because a neighborhood guard got scared. Many people are saying that the guard is at fault because Treyvon told him to stop following him. While George Zimmerman is mostly at fault, it has nothing to do with the boy telling him to stop following him. And if Treyvon really did start beating the guard up, he shouldn’t have done that. Both are at fault, but ultimately George Zimmerman killed Treyvon Martin. I don’t think George should be sentenced to death, because there is never a good reason to kill someone, but he should be locked up or punished in some way.

This is certainly a tragedy. I consider this act super unprofessional by Zimmerman. I believe this was hate crime. Trayvon didn't give one reason for Zimmerman to believe he was doing something wrong, he was wearing a hoodie and had skittles on his hand..so what!? lets catch everyone with hoodies on the streets and do the same to them? NO! this is totally unethical by Zimmerman and he should have drastic consequences for his actions! An innocent man lost his life because some Zimmerman suspected of him while he was innocent. In my opinion this makes me look at my countries authority differently. You can't live on a world based on assumptions! Zimmerman should be locked in jail for life!

  33. I think the Trayvon Martin case is terrible, ridiculous, and it really doesn’t make sense. It’s only two people that know what happened that night. One was Trayvon and the other is Zimmerman. The problem is that Zimmerman is the only one that can tell us what happened that night. But no one can even find Zimmerman nowadays. And I doubt he would tell the truth if he was asked about that terrible night. I don’t think this was self- defense at all. He called the police numerous times because he saw suspicious African-Americans in his neighborhood. Now there’s talk that Zimmerman used racial slurs. But where is this information coming from if there were only two people that night. It seems that every week there’s something else that pops up about this case. And it makes it seem like there will never be justice for Trayvon. And that’s all that is wanted right now.

  34. The Trayvon Martin case is a very sad, confusing, and disputable topic. I think it’s awful and unfair the tragedy his family must be going through, and I think it’s very surprising to see how Zimmerman still hasn’t been arrested. I hope justice is soon seen in this case. It’s really confusing because with the little evidence the police has, no one knows what really happened. So, I can’t really say whether or not this was a hate crime or self-defense. In my opinion, he’s not innocent because by the end of the day Zimmerman murdered an innocent boy, and to me it’s a crime. As a guard, Zimmerman should’ve waited for the police to take this so-called “suspicion” into their hands. He shouldn’t have gone with his intuition and killed Trayvon, because of how suspicious he looked or the way he dressed.

  37. This tragic and horrific incident is nothing more than a prime example of how crude and unjust the world we have come to live in today is. Regardless of how suspicious or potentially dangerous one individual may appear to another, there is absolutely no reason as to why one should take a measure as drastic as a death sentence upon him or her. Unfortunately, we may never learn just what the exact events that occurred on that evening were, so I cannot realistically take anybody's side, but until then, the most effective thing we can do is continue to investigate this case thoroughly so that there can eventually be a somewhat solid conclusion, at least. Upon saying this, I still stress that I am deeply sorry for the loss of yet another human being killed off for no apparent reason, and I do hope that Trayvon Martin rests in peace. To conclude, I suggest we all take this event as a warning to what our world may become in the future and reflect on our ways of living so that we can prevent anything such as this from ever happening again.

  38. A 17 year old boy named Trayvon Martin was wearing a hooded jacket he had a bag of skittles and an ice tea in his hand and got killed by a man named George Zimmerman. George's case was that it was out of self-defense and was released from police custody. Later came the evidence of the 911 call which you heard George making false accusations about Trayvon and was asked to stop following Trayvon but did not. Another 911 call came out where a neighbor made the call and in the background you hear someone yelling help. Professionals analyzed the call for help and proved that it was not George's voice yelling for help. After all this evidence George was still not arrested. I believe George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin on purpose. I believed that George was looking for trouble. This case is not about black and white, even though he made some racist remarks, Zimmerman should have been arrested the minuet they heard the 911 calls but he was not. So blacks and whites marched for justice and so that something like this will not happen again and to get George Zimmerman arrested to get the justice he deserves.

  39. The Trayvon Martin case is very hard to understand because there are many different sides to the story. From both sides of the story it could either be a hate crime or self defense, it’s very hard to tell but I think that it’s not right to use violence when it isn’t necessary. If it was in self defense there could have been other actions that Zimmerman could have performed besides shooting. If it was a hate crime then that isn’t right at all, because everyone should be treated with equal respect without any negative judgments and Zimmerman should have gotten some sort of punishment. It was horrible incident and nobody should have to go through the pain of losing someone who they love.

  40. My opinion on the Trayvon Martin Case is that this was all a hate crime. I do not think that George Zimmermann shot Martin as a way of defense. The story would be a little bit more believable if Martin would have been shot in the front of his body but Zimmermann shot his from behind. I do not think that it is correct that Zimmermann has yet to be out in jail. If anyone shoots another person they should automatically go to jail until they are proven innocent or guilty. I think that Zimmermann only shot Martin because of his color, but if it was a white boy he wouldn't have felt like if he was in danger of his life.

My opinion on the Trayvon Martin case is exactly what it's portrayed to be. I believe that African Americans still have racism and stereotypes against them. If your an innocent teenager walking in the street and your approached in an odd way of course you would try to intimate so that person would back off. Zimmerman says that he shot Trayvon as a form of self defense, but it's a little hard to believe when someone is shot from behind. This case seems to be a hate crime; I understand that there isn't enough evidence to prove if it was intentional or not but the facts so far that has been shared lead me to believe that it was a cruel suspicious act. Personally if anyone commits a murder they should be in jail until proven if the crime was actually committed, because Zimmerman could say that he's innocent but be lying and maybe even commit the same crime again to another innocent human being.

  42. I honestly think that the Trayvon Martin case is a little too hard to understand. I mean there's always two sides to stories. Trayvon Martin was wearing a hoodie when he got shot. I think Zimmerman was using self defense. It could also be a hate crime. If you think about it, if you see someone wearing a hoodie like the way Trayvon Martin did the first thing you would think is that he would rob you. It has nothing to do with racism because I even think white people with hoodies might rob you. It's very unexpected and I think that Zimmerman got a little carried away and used this as self defense.

  43. What happened to Trayvon Martin is really sad and will probably never know what actually happened. Trayvon was just walking out of a store with a hooded jacket on and ended up being killed. It is sad how someone can think badly or be suspicious of another person for wearing a hoodie. In my opinion, I don’t believe Zimmerman had good intentions. He had been arrested before, but the charges were dropped. Whether is was self-defense or by accident, he shot and killed someone. I don't think that he should get the death penalty because I don't believe in it. I don't think that taking another human life solve anything but there should be justice for Trayvon.

I Personally think that the Trayvon Martin case can be very difficult to understand. Evidence is limited and there are always three parts to a story Martins part, Zimmerman's Part, and the truth. Since Martin was killed his part is eliminated. And the Truth and Zimmerman's part are left. But Zimmerman is no where to be found and even if they did find him i doubt he would say the truth. I also think that there could be a bit of a stereotype thing going on there. Because there's no possible way that if Martin had big plans and lived in a good neighborhood etc. that he could have really attacked Zimmerman now if he did I'm sure there had to have been said something for him to have acted that way. This case is hard to handle because many things are limited but i do think that some racism from Zimmerman's part may have occurred or he had to tell something offensive to Martin for him to have "attacked" like Zimmerman said. And also just because Trayvon was wearing a hoodie didn't mean he looked suspicious or was a bad kid or even that he was going to harm anybody. Because I'm sure plenty of people including myself where hoddies. But does that mean we look suspicious or we are bad people? of course NOT !!..

  45. The whole predicament with the case has gotten me utterly enraged. How could someone on crime watch duty shoot and kill an innocent 17 year old boy because he seemed "suspicious"? The last time I checked anyone who is in crime watch duty dose not have the authority nor are prohibited to take physical action and that they relied upon to contact the cops if they suspect abnormal behavior. This is most definitely a hate crime! Just because he had a black hoodie that dise not mean he is a harmful or spiteful person. The only thing Trayvon had in him was an Arizona and skittles. And how would that be self defense for Zemmerman as he stated? He is a compulsive liar, he would do anything or say anything to keep him free from charges or prison. The only person that can close the Trayvon Martin Case is his truth in what really happened that day. I believe that this case was somewhat racially unjust and they would've been resolving it quicker if the situation was vice versa.

  47. My opinion at this point is unable to be expressed. This was not a self defense crime; it was a hate crime. The fact that he has "mysteriously" evaded previous charges is due to the intervention of his father, who is a judge. He has tried to make Trayvon look like a killer, so that his son could be found innocent.
If I was a lawyer I would not present that it was all centered around race; though that would come up. This has gone on for way too long and Zimmerman is not arrested yet. They seem to think that this would just die down like everything else that happens in the world; but it won't. Trayvon was a good kid and never did anything to cause trouble. But because he had on a hoodie with skittles and iced ted, it was self defense? Not at all! Trayvon deserves justice because he did no harm to anyone. But, I hope that this man, Zimmerman, would even come to know Christ and that he would allow the truth to flow and that his life would be transformed because of the power of God. Yes, what he did was totally out of line, and it deserves to be punished, but take a look inside yourself and think about everything that you've done to offend or disappoint God, we also deserve to be punished because no sin is greater than another. Instead of us being punished it was Christ. Allow God to deal with this man because that is only way that justice will truly be found. One thing that God detests is hands that shed innocent blood. Let God deal with him.

  48. In my opinion I don't really believe that it was self-defense. I believe it was a hate crime because upon reading the police report, Trayvon Martin had a gun wound on the back of his head. Which means he was running away not causing any treat to Mr. Zimmerman. I also think it's not true that the gun went off because it's kinda weird that the gun went off exactly when Martin was completely turned around. That's my honest opinion.

  49. In my opinion, the Treyvon Martin case was a hate crime because there is no way of using self defense when the child is simply walking home. There is speculation that the gun just went off and struck the young boy. I do still believe that there is racism in the united states, especially towards African-Americans. I believe that Zimmerman should be put in jail, and justice should be brought to poor Treyvon.

  50. My opinion on this case is that it is sad that this teenager got murdered for no particular reason. The man that killed him can be both self defense and hate crime. Self-defense because if I see someone in a hoodie, I would be suspicous BUT I would not have the balls to actually come up to him/her and kill them. Hate crime because the man is racist and was not thinking properly. Yes, the news tells us that the gun went off and it was an "accident". They can be telling us the truth or simply covering it up to protect the murder, who knows. Today's society is way too caught up on to focus on something like that. I believe that it was not right that Treyvon got murdered because of one man's curiousity. But I also believe that if the man thought that the suspicious looking teen was going to stab him or something, then it would sense to protect yourself. You have to look from both perspectives, not the one that everyone simply agrees upon.

  51. The Trayvon Martin case is sad. No one knows what happened except Trayvon and George. Trayvon is dead so you can't really go by one person's story. But what if this guy wasn't lying and he was defending himself? No one can know for sure because there isn't much evidence. He's going to be charged with murder and in jail basically for life. So it's an eye for an eye but that makes the whole world blind. It's good that he's going to jail though because he killed someone, I wouldn't want a killer on the streets. This whole situation is just hard to process. Trayvon didn't have to die he could've just called the cops if it was self defense and let them take care of it. Or shoot him in the foot or something so he doesn't get away. But that's mean. That's my view on this case.

  52. Trayvon Martin was just a regular teenager harmlessly walking around with an Arizona iced tea and a bag of skittles. Police officer George Zimmerman shot and killed him. Just cause a black guy is walking around in a hoodie does not mean he is going to hurt someone. I don't believe it was self defense but I also do not believe it was so tragic to say that it was a hate crime. I do believe that because he was black that made George shoot him. So maybe George was racist. I am not racist so I do not think it was nice to kill him because if it was me? i do not want to die.

  53. This is one of those cases that people will talk about for years. George Zimmerman claims that he shot another person in self defense. I believe that he went after Trayvon because he really believe he should not have been in that area. I do believe he is a racist. He should have never gone after him When he spoke to the police they even told him to leave him alone. The interesting point in this case will be when the evidence in this case comes out and proves that he did not shoot him in self defense. There is a 911 call from a neighbor that you can hear in the back cries of help. The interesting part is that both Trayvon's parents and Zimmerman's brother claim to be the one crying for help. I believe that this evidence will be crucial to the case. It will also clear up once and for all if Zimmerman is innocent. Because it they can prove that was the kid's voice then he will be in big trouble.

I think this case is very interesting. I somewhat think that George Zimmerman is guilty but i dont want to go on what the media say because sometimes it can be wrong. i dont think that he was defending himself because what can a little boy like treyvon do to him. i mean really who was the threat. clearly Zimmerman can hurt him without a gun. i think this was a hate crime because i heard in the police tapes he said "they" always get away. and by "they" i think he means blacks. i think the evidence will show whos the guilty one.

  56. My opinion regarding the Trayvon Martin case has to do with the fact that George Zimmerman killed Trayvon out of anger towards the black race. Trayvon was carrying an iced tea and a pack of skittles. If George Zimmerman's excuse was that he shot an killed Trayvon out of self-defense he's lying because he even shot him in the back which proves that Trayvon was running away. If Trayvon Martin even did anything to him he still has no right to take away the life of a 17-year-old kid when his life was never in danger. Zimmerman should be charged with murder and sentenced to life in prison for taking the life of an innocent person. Zimmerman's actions were just prejudice ones and there's no doubt about it. Also, Zimmerman's excuse about his gun going off is also very hard to believe.

I view the Trayvon Martin case as a hate crime. George Zimmerman was told to leave Trayvon alone and he disobeyed the 911 operator. The teenager was unarmed and on his way home from the store. I believe justice should be served and he should pay for his actions. Self defense does not justify killing an unarmed man. The charge that he received was just it just has to be a guilty verdict rendered . Racism still exists and his actions should be an example

  58. The Trayvon Martin case was completely 100% a hate crime. George Zimmerman hates the black race so he decided to take it out on the nearest black person he could which in this case was Trayvon. He ignored the police a killed Trayvon. This was not a self defense this was out of pure hate. George Zimmerman thought that he was off the hook but was sadly mistaken. He was arrested. It took a while but like they always say better late than never. I think George Zimmerman got what he deserved, no one has the right to take another persons life. That is the job that God performs. No one on this earth has the right to play God.

  59. That case was completely a hate crime. George does not like black people and its wrong what he did. He has no right to kill a person because of his skin color. It makes me mad to see that people are still like this in this world and people haven't change one bit. People should know now not to judge people by there own skin color. It doesnt give you the righ to kill them. I think that man should be put in jail because that is not right and racism need to stop it is getting out of control and they need to put a stop to this now. This is coming from black people i doesnt feel good when someone disrespects a person because of the color.

  60. The Travyon Martin dilema is very touchy case. It has raised issues in whether or not George Zimmerman was racial or not or whether Travyon Martin really was a threat to Zimmerman.Honestly I dont understand.People get killed everyday, whether your black, white, hispanic, asian etc.So do this mean that for every death that occurs it has to do with race? And the media should not blow things out of porpotion.Yes what Zimmerman did was wrong because killing is a crime and he should be sent to definitely convicted for that, but what I do not believe is that the media should not make this certain case a hate crime whether they really have actual evidence that he was racist. If this case would have been the other way around where the one killed would have been white and travyon was the one guilty one, would this case still be considered a hate crime? Few months ago, a hispanic couple were killed in a gas station in miami gardens, by a black man whom was trying to steal there car. why didnt this come up in the news as a hate crime ?

  61. I believe this case should not be a case. Zimmerman had wrongly killed an unarmed defenseless teenager, Zimmerman should either be put to death sentence, prison until death or an insane asylum. I say he should be put in the asylum because there must be something wrong with him if he decided to go out his house, beat someone up and then shoot them. He should put to a death sentence because it would be justice but since i do believe in taking someone's life I think he should be put to jail for life with no parole or any benefits a normal inmate would get. I honestly believe this was a hate crime.

My opinion on this case is that it was a hate crime. The cop who shot Martin stereotyped him as being a thief just because he was black. I believe that this was a hate crime. When it comes to white people looking suspicious, the public is able to turn a blind eye on them. When it comes to a black person not doing or looking shady at all, they are accused for almost anything they can put up against them. I believe that racism is still a big problem in our society today, even though it’s not as bad as it was before the 1970’s.

  63. This is my fourth time trying to submit this blog in.

I believe this is one of those cases where we will never have a straight answer for. There are so many variables and accusations made in this case that it is impossible to rule out everything and make a clear cut decision about it without you actually being there and seeing what happened. Do I believe racism had something to do with this case? Yes. Zimmerman followed Trayvon because he was black. He suspected that he had a weapon because he was black. He made all these accusations because he was black. There is no going around it, racial profiling definitely had something to do with this case. But i do not think that is the only and/or main problem here. It's true Trayvon probably looked suspicious with the way he was dressed. And it could be true that he looked older than he was, most African-Americans do. And it could even be true that Zimmerman was protecting himself, we do not know that. But here is what i know for sure, Zimmerman did not have to shoot him. I don't care what really happened there, somebody like Zimmerman should not be carrying a gun to use on anybody he deems "suspicious". Despite what Trayvon looked like or what he was wearing, you do not go around shooting people. I think the real problem is people don't understand how powerful a gun is. With a single bullet, Zimmerman took a life, affected many other lives, possibly ruined his own life, and started a movement. That is the power of a gun. And it's about time we realize who should be holding that kind of power. Now i don't know for sure who started getting violent or who provoked any kind of fight in the first place, no one really does. But all I know is one crucial thing. Nobody should have died that night.

My opinion on Trayvon Martin is no one should jump to conclusions on anything like wearing a hoodie I could see how wearing a hoodie could be consider and threat no one should go at anybody without reason and wearing a hoodie to me was not a reason to hurt somebody. I believe there are always two sides to every story and the truth noone will really ever know what happened except for them two. I believe this should be a wake up call for people to know not to act on what you see so fast

  65. I disagree with how the Trayvon Martin case was handled. I believe that George Zimmerman had no right to shoot at a teenager that had no weapon and should be charged with murder. It is not a right that a young african american man cant wear a hoodie and walk home with out getting questioned but a white young man can. He was doing absolutely nothing wrong, If Zimmerman would have thrown hands it wouldve been more understandable but to shoot the teenager, he is not even a police man he is a security guard. George is obviously a racist man and i dislike him.

  66. Ibelieve the Trayvon Martin case was neither self-defense, nor a hate crime. i believe the term hate crime is too extreme. This was merely the result of a steryotype. Officer Zimmerman saw Trayvon as a threat because he was an African Amerian wearing a hoodie. That is all. I believe he had absolutely no reason for shooting an innocent child and I honestly believe he should receive a life sentence in prison. He made a foolish action which caused someone to lose their life. I see it no other way. The whole situation disgusts me and even talking about it makes me wonder what kind of worl do we really live in. This goes to show that you never know who's out there. anyone at any time can do something traumatic to you; even if you do nothing to deserve it. It's a shame that things like this happen. I just hope we can learn from this.

  67. My opinion on the Trayvon Martin Case is that Trayvon was an innocent young man that was killed by George Zimmerman because George Zimmerman would not mind his own business and step out of line and provoked or initiated an engagement with Trayvon. I do not believe it was self defense because it seems very evident that Zimmerman went after and provoked Martin and in any light it seems apparent that if any self defense was present it would have been present by Martin. I believe that Trayvon Martin was minding his own business and that Zimmerman would not leave Martin alone which would be the first step into the engagement that would ultimately lead to the death of Trayvon Martin.
