  4. Moby Dick was written by Herman Melville who was born in New York in 1819. The plot for Moby Dick was Captain Ahab and his quest for a giant white whale was a flop. When Melville first published the book, people probably didn’t think it was important at all. But in the 1920s people found his work and I’m guessing that they took interest in it. I haven’t read Moby Dick, but I think I would like to read the story and find out why people think it’s such a good book. I think that Moby Dick it’s a great book considering that it is a great classic in American literature.

  5. According to the article I recently read a man by the name Herman Melville wrote the novel, the purpose of writing the novel to basically write romantic experiences, adventure, risk etc. Many people found it meaningful due to the fact that it was based on a real experience and inspired by one of his close friend, I haven’t read Moby Dick at all , my opinion of the story is not really something specific, until I read the actual novel I will have a precise opinion towards the story over all.

  7. Moby Dick is a novel written by Herman Melville. Moby Dick is about a guy named Captain Ahab who attempts on killing a white whale which is Moby Dick. Captain Ahab wants revenge because the white whale maimed him, causing him to lose a leg and replace it with a whalebone peg leg. At the end of the novel, Moby Dick does not that but Captain Ahab and most of his crew does. The message of the story that can teach people across the world is that when you seek revenge, it can always turn back on you.

  8. Herman Melville wrote the epic novel Moby Dick and it was published on 1851 by Harper & Brothers in New York. His book was not so popular while he was alive but later on after his death. The plot of the story was that Ishmael, the narrator, set out on a journey to find a great white whale. The narrator Ishmael made many voyages as a sailor but none as a whaler and it was his first time. He meets different people and gets a ship called the Pequod, and sets out on his voyage. This story is important across the globe because many schools use it for their literature classes. I have read Moby Dick in one of my classes and my opinion is that it is a good book because it is adventurous and tragic. As you read there is suspense throughout the story.

The basic meaning or theme of the book would be that it takes place out on sea , where Captain Ahab attempted to capture a giant white whale. Besides the fact that the book is based on true life much more things make it important. It is meaningful to people around the globe because Melville was an ex marine and in the navy. This being he writes about the experiences of human life out at sea. Melville also used his friends in books to make somethings stand out and capture readers attention about real life experience. 40. Moby Dick is a novel written by Herman Melville. This book is an epic tale of a crazed sea captain hunting the whale that bit off his leg told through the eyes of a school teacher. As the story begins Ishmael is at the local boating dock looking for work. Ishmael being a school teacher has allot of time off as of the moment because the school is at recess, for what reason i don't know. He is in a tavern talking amongst the whalers. He asks if they know of any ships on witch he could board as a hand for the captain. One of the stories he receives is of a man named Ahab. He is offering good pay and good work for any man who wants to join him on his ship. the only problem is that people say that he is a rather evil man.
