  2. Kim Charles. E-Block. The Sistine Chapel is a famous chapel found in Rome. This chapel was made by Michelangelo, one of the greatest Italian Renaissance artist of all time. He was born in a small village in Caprese in 1475 and died at the age of 88 in 1564. He has produced numerous other sculptures, frescoes, architectural designs, and drawings. He currently has one of his finest works on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel today. I haven't seen this chapel but know I will one day see it before I die.

Michelangelo was a great Italian Renascence artist, he was born in 1475, and he grew in Florence, Italia. Michelangelo created the Sistine Chapel that from the outside looks like a rectangular with Medieval and Renascence style like most of the church’s in Rome, but form the inside is something amazing it contains several parts of our religion like offering the leper, last super , punishment of Korah , Dathan and Abriam and many others more. It took a five years to finish the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo continued working until his dead at the age of 88 years. I have been there and I think is something really amazing and beautiful.

  5. Michelangelo Buonarroti, is one of Italy's greatest artists. He was born in the small village of Caprese in 1475, raised in Florence, a center of the early Renaissance movement, and became an artist's apprentice at age 13. He was admired by many for his artistic talent and was asked to go to Rome in 1508 to paint on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. This painting on the ceiling has been famous ever since. This consisted of nine panels devoted to biblical world history. The most famous of these is The Creation of Adam, a painting in which the arms of God and Adam are stretching toward each other. The massive painting represents Christ's damnation of sinners and blessing of the virtuous and is looked upon as a masterpiece of early Mannerism. Michelangelo worked until his death in 1564 at the age of 88. He has contributed emmansively to the areas of both artistry, architecture, and theology. He has been celebrated as an asset to the world ever since.

The Sistine Chapel is located in Rome, Italy within the Vatican City. This chapel is the chief consecrated space in the Vatican. As for who created the Sistine Chapel; the designer was a man named Baccio Pontelli and built under the supervision of Giovannino de Dolci between the years of 1473 and 1481. However, the ceiling was painted at a later date by Michelangelo. Sadly, I have never been there. I wish I could go because I have seen videos and pictures of this chapel and it is really beautiful. Also, because the Vatican City is the capital city of our religion. Hopefully, I will be able to make a pilgrimage there one day.

  11. The Sistine Chapel takes its name from Pope Sixtus IV della Rovere. It was designed to be - and still is - the pope's chapel and the site of papal elections. The Sistine Chapel was consecrated and dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin on August 15, 1483. The chapel is located in Rome and is famous for tourism. The Sistine ceiling was originally painted by Piero Matteo d'Amelia, who included a star-spangled sky. But in 1508 Pope Julius II della Rovere commissioned Michelangelo to repaint the ceiling. For my sisters 15's we went on a trip around Europe for 2 weeks and one of our stops was at Rome just to see this chapel it was beautiful. I didnt really think anything about art until i went to this church. For a man to repaint this ceiling it was definetly dificult but hard work pays off, for now he is a Famous man to history.
