Sputnik was the world's first artificial satellite. Sputnik was named after the Russian word for "satellite",which was launched at 10:29 p.m. Moscow time from the Tyuratam launch base in the Kazakh Republic. Sputnik circled Earth once every hour and 36 minutes traveling at 18,000 miles an hour. This is really impressive that in traveled so quickly around the earth. Unfortunatley Sputnik's orbit deteriorated and the spacecraft burned up in the atmosphere. Obviously Space research and technology advanced after Sputnik into creating Sputnik 2,Explorer,and more space crafts.

I actually still remember the first time I ever understood the idea of any spacecraft or person going to the moon. To me it’s interesting and I find it incredible how early they started experimenting things in outer space. I recall learning about the Sputnik in middle school and how it was the first of billions to be exposed to outer space. I thought it was cool that they sent out a dog into space on the second Sputnik shuttle. I’m so glad the Sputnik was launched and experimented on because if not today we wouldn’t have the same scientific understanding of the world we live in. –kaffy <3
ReplyDeleteOn October 4, 1957, the Soviet Union sent into orbit Sputnik 1, the first artificial satellite in history. Visible with binoculars before sunrise or after sunset, Sputnik transmitted radio signals back to Earth strong enough to be picked up by amateur radio operators. The Space Race was a mid-to-late 20th century competition between the Soviet Union and the United States for supremacy in space exploration. Between 1957 and 1975, Cold War rivalry between the two nations focused on attaining firsts in space exploration, which were seen as necessary for national security and symbolic of technological and ideological superiority. Yes, I do believe someone landed on the moon. The astronauts that went into space spent years studying and analyzing their journey before they actually took it, so I think they were well prepared. I believe NASA should try to explore space because the more we know about our world, the better we can protect ourselves and our environment.

ReplyDeleteSputnik was the world's first artificial satellite, it was launched at 10:29 p.m. in Moscow. Sputnik had a diameter of 22 inches and a weighed of 184 pounds and circled Earth once every hour and 36 minutes. Traveling at 18,000 miles per hour. After a while Sputnik transmitted radio signals back to Earth really strong signals to the Earth and then the operator checked them. In the United States they had access to such equipment tuned in and listened in awe as the beeping Soviet spacecraft passed over America several times a day.
In January 1958, Sputnik's orbit deteriorated, as expected, and the spacecraft burned up in the atmosphere.
I think the NASA should keep exploring the space, because for me is really interesant to think that we are not the only ounces un this universe.

The Sputnik is the world's first artificial satellite. Sputnik is a Russian word for satellite. The Space Race was a mid-to-late 20th century competition between the Soviet Union and the United States for supremacy in space exploration. There is some discrepancy on whether people truly did step on the moon. I believe they did. This goes to the fact that we have descriptions and pictures supporting this fact. It is stated that people have been visiting the moon since in the late 1960's. If there is any doubt on whether people did land on the moon, I would designate that doubt during that timing. We are mow within the 21st century, our technology today should support our capability of landing on the moon.
Sputnik is the Russian word for "satellite." It was the world's first artificial satellite and was launched at 10:29 p.m. It had a diameter of 22 inches and weighed 184 pounds and circled Earth once every hour and 36 minutes. The reason Sputnik was launched was to correspond with the International Geophysical year. The space race was a competition between the United States and the Soviet Union to prove superiority of its technology. I do believe someone landed on the moon because they took a lot of their time studying it and getting themselves ready for it. NASA should try to explore space to find new different things and see more of what our world is really like.

Sputnik was the first artificial satellite to go into space, it was made by the Russians. The word "Sputnik" is russian for satellite. The space race was when the Russians and the USA were trying to get the best next thing in space. I personally believe people have landed on the moon, because how would we know how the moon looks likes, or where did the moon samples come from? So personally, i think yes, they did land on the moon. NASA should explore space but they should first think of the safety of the astronauts firsts, but they should try there best to see what else is out there. I think it would be good for us to know what else is out in our universe.
ReplyDeleteThe spacecraft Sputnik is Russian for "satellite." It was also the world's first artificial satellite when the Soviet Union launched this. The Space Race was a mid-to-late 20th century competition between the Soviet Union and the United States for supremacy in space exploration. Many American were afraid of the Soviet's new rocket and satellite technology, which was strides ahead of the U.S. space effort. I do not think someone landed in the moon because technology back then wasn't efficient to make a rocket go millions of miles to the moon with such intensive speed and velocity. Over time, technology keeps improving and now since it is now the 21st century, it would make more sense that astronauts can land on the moon.

(E:Block)The Worlds’ first artificial satellite, invented by the Soviet Union, was named Sputnik. (Meaning ‘Satellite’ in Russian). In the mid to late 20th century, the United States and the Soviet Union kind of had an unannounced rivalry where each side tried to one up the other in the battle for superiority in space advancement. The Space Race was an attempt by the USA, who was caught off guard by the Soviet Union’s technological achievements, to catch up with the Soviets’ advancements. Yes, I do believe that someone has landed on the moon. If it didn’t happen how would there be dance moves? (the moon walk). Or the famous line by Mr. Armstrong “one small step for man…one giant leap for mankind”. Seriously, I believe that someone landed on the moon because through the advancements of those people, so many other good things have come about. Technology today is changing and without the brave people who take that leap it wouldn’t be possible.

Sputnik was the world’s first-class artificial satellite. The launch of the space age was inaugurated by the Soviet Union. Sputnik was sent into orbit on October 4th, 1957. The space race was basically a race between the United States and the Soviet Union for dominance in space exploration. Yes, I do believe someone landed on the moon. The astronauts that went into space had spent years studying space and their journey that would lie ahead. They were very well-prepared astronauts of their time. I believe more astronauts should try to explore space because the more we know about our world beyond earth, the better we can protect ourselves and the world around us.

Sputnik is the world's first artificial satellite. The Soviet Union created the "Space Age" when the first launched Sputnik. The Sputnik was launched at 10:29 p.m. Moscow time. The Sputnik was 22 inches and weighed 184 pounds. It also circled Earth once every hour and 36 minutes. The space race was in the late '60s along with the Apollo lunar-landing program. I do believe that man walked on the moon. two Apollo 11 astronauts landed on the surface on the moon in July 1969. No body would make up such a huge lie about man walking on the moon. Also keep the lying go for decades.
ReplyDeleteThe Soviet Union began the "Space Age" with the launch of the first artificial space aircraft, Sputnik. Sputnik was the Russian word for "satellite" and was launched at 10:29pm Moscow time. I believe that someone did land on the moon we can't just make up false facts about the moon , and descriptions about how it looked and everything. They developed photos showing how it looked and that one person holding the flag declaring the United States of america.well why shouldn't Nasa explore space maybe they will find interesting things and discover something new.
ReplyDeleteThe Sputnik was the world’s first artificial satellite. It had a diameter of 22 inches and weighed 184 pounds and circled Earth once every hour and 36 minutes. Traveling at 18,000 miles an hour, its elliptical orbit had an apogee (farthest point from Earth) of 584 miles and a perigee (nearest point) of 143 miles. Visible with binoculars before sunrise or after sunset, Sputnik transmitted radio signals back to Earth strong enough to be picked up by amateur radio operators. The Sputnik was launched to keep up with other earth exploring artificial satellites. The space race was basically the informal competition between the United States and Russia to launch unmanned satellites, send people into space and land them on the moon. I personally believe Americans landed on the moon. The evidence supporting the Apollo moon landings are overwhelming. The evidence for it being fake is doesn’t exist. I belive that NASA should end their space explorations because it’s a waste of money.

The Sputnik circled the earth once every hour and 36min. The space age is known for the competition between the United States and the Soviet Union to prove its lead of its technology. I do believe someone landed on the moon, because some things are difficult, but not impossible. I also think NASA should keep on exploring space, because there is so much more to discover out there that we don’t know of.

Sputnik is the first Soviet satellite launched into space. Sputnik was a huge surprise to America, because they were developing a satellite that wasn’t due for launch until a year after Sputnik had launched, and it was 10 times the size of Sputnik. Some Americans, with access to radio equipment, could hear Sputnik on the radio when it passed above them. The Space Race was the race between the Soviet Union and The United States to see who could make the best advances in space exploration, which eventually led to America putting two men on the moon. I do believe that the moon landing is real, it’s just my opinion, can’t explain it. Yes, I believe that NASA should try to explore space, because space is cool, I want to see if we really are alone in the universe, and the xenomorphs aren’t going to come to us (HA).
This article is about Sputnik. Sputnik was The world's first artificial satellite. This event began what was called The "Space Age," which was launched by The Soviet Union. The Space race was causes by the Americans and The Russians competing to produce The next big thing in space. Yes, I definitely believe that a man landed on the moon because there is way too much evidence to prove it. Of course I believe NASA should continue to explore space because in that way we will continue to learn more about the mysteries of outer space and the universe. We can benefit alot from understanding the workings of the elements of nature that lie just outside our very world.
ReplyDeleteStupnik was the first artificial satellite ever to be launched into space by the Soviet Union which was the beginning of the space race between the U.S. and the Soviets. The space race was when the U.S. was competing with the Soviet Union in advances in space flight and other technological achievements in space. Yes I believe that the U.S. landed a man on the moon because it is documented in history and was record on video as proof of the historical event. Yes I believe that NASA should explore space in order to advance our understanding of the solar system.
ReplyDeleteThe world’s first artificial satellite was the Sputnik. It was launched from the Tyuratam launch base in the Kazakh Republic. The space race was a race between the US and the Soviets to see who would get to the moon first and have people step foot on the moon. I do believe that someone landed on the moon because there are lots of tests that prepare astronauts for missions to the moon and other planets in outer space. In conclusion, there are many different stories arguing that this is true or false but I believe that its true because of the evidence.
ReplyDeleteThe U.S. government, military, and scientific community were caught off guard by the Soviet technological achievement, and their united efforts to catch up with the Soviets, publicly announcing the beginning of the "space race." During the “space race” Sputnik was launched. It was the world’s first artificial satellite. The spacecraft, named Sputnik was named after the Russian word for "satellite". Yes, I do believe someone landed on the moon because there are have been proven facts such as pictures that show someone has been on the moon. Especially with today’s technology, there is even more of a greater chance to land on the moon.
