  2. John Adams was the second president of America but in this article, at the time he still wasn’t. Adams was elected as a delegate to make up a new constitution. He had an important role in the American Revolution. He was chosen to travel to Europe to make an alliance with France. While he was in Europe, he would write to Congress daily to update them with his views and opinions on the European affairs. He was also selected to make peace terms with Britain. It was very hard to have peace for the Continental army. Adam’s succeeded in making peace with Britain and was declared peacemaker.

  4. You can tell that John Adams also known as the "Peacemake", the third president of the United States was a busy man. He traveled to Paris in 1778 to negotiate an alliance with France and he was elected as a delegate to the state convention to make up a new constitution. He did several things that helped him learn his new diplomatic commission. Even though, most president of the United States end up doing something good or bad for our country, you can obviously tell that John Adams worked hard for his spot. He also negotiated with the important people in Europe such as Holland, the Dutch, British and more.

  6. Well John Adams was at that time a politician, a leader among them some might say seeing as he gets sent to all of these different places, though some he did not like he did however in the end get what had to get done done. In the American Revolution he wasn't on the war front with Washington he was fighting the war behind the scenes using words as his weapons to try and make peace and easier accomplishment and by trying to get the aid of the French. Well, I say that some of those trips were "failures" in a way but he never really do anything bad he got ,like what i said before, what needed to be done done which is why he succeeded in what it is that he wanted to do.

  7. John Adams, the first of a long line of Adams men to rise to historical lifestyle, might be best remembered as one of the most influential voices of the American Revolution. His vocal opinions and eloquent writing, plus a solid background of legal and philosophical studies, made him a natural choice to assist drafting many of the documents of the Revolution, from the earliest letters of complaint to Crown officials to the Declaration of Independence and the Massachusetts Constitution. He and Thomas Jefferson could be understandably called the voices of the Revolution.

  12. John Adams is important to the study of American history because he was the second president of the United States, he served on the committee that drafted the Declaration of Independence and then helped persuade the Second Continental Congress to adopt the declaration. He is one of the great figures in American history because before the American Revolution he joined with other patriots in resisting British rule. He became well known throughout the colonies. When in Boston he was elected to the Massauchetts legislature while helping acquit the British troops in the Boston massacre. In May 1775, Adams opened the Second Continental Congress; the American Revolution had begun with the battles at Lexington and Concord. He addressed Congress and told them that before talking of peace with Britain, Congress should adopt a program to set up an independent government in each colony. Adam tried his hardest to make peace with Britain and he did that is why they later declared him the peacemaker.

  14. John Adams was born in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1735. He was a Harvard lawyer, a writer, and a politician. During the American Revolution, he served diplomatic roles in France and Holland to help negotiate the peace treaty but was dismissed. Later, he was appointed a delegate to start a new constitution and learned of his new diplomatic commission. Adams sailed to Paris with his two sons John Quincy, who later became the sixth President of the United States, and Charles. While in Paris, John Adams wrote to Congress telling news about the British activities and his perspectives on their happenings. He felt that by the conditions peace was not going to occur. When John Adams departed from France and reported back to Holland, he was named an American minister to Netherlands. In October 1782, he returned to Paris to try to make peace again. John Adams and John Jay both distrusted the French government and with their differences of opinions it allowed them to negotiate peace known as the Peace of Paris. Therefore, John Adams succeeded in his mission for peace.

  15. John Adams was the second president of the United States, but before he earned that title he accomplished a lot of things for example, he was named American minister to the Netherlands. After the Revolutionary War, John Adams, along with John Jay, had distrusted the French government, but their differences of opinion and diplomatic styles allowed them to negotiate favorable terms in the Peace of Paris (1783). Adam’s first few peace talks failed miserably, because his requests were constantly denied. After trial and error, as well as sending letters to the government repeatedly, he returned to France in America’s favor. He took his part in the peace negotiations.

  17. From reading this article I learned that John Adams was a minister of plenipotentiary and in charge of negotiating treaties of peace and commerce with Great Britain during the Revolutionary War. John Adams role during the American Revolution was being a peace mediator/ negotiator. He was one of the men who also came up with the peace treaty with England which he even served later as the United States Ambassador to England. I think John Adams did succeed in his peace talks during the war. The reason why I think he was successful because after reading and researching John was never a person to give up on what he wanted and believed in. The reason why I say this is because john never stopped to negotiate with the continental congress until they finally agreed to the negotiating. In overall John will always be remembered for good doing and making history.

  27. John Adams, the second president of the United States, was sent to Europe in order to negotiate peace and a treaty of commerce with Great Britain. Throughout negotiations, he determined that the political conditions in England would make it possible for the conclusion of the peace treaty. He earned skillful, negotiator, and spokesman for the United States, and he served as a diplomat in France, but his diplomatic triumphs were offset by the feeling of alienation and Congress revoked his commission to negotiate the peace treaty alone. Years later, a revived Adams returned to Paris to negotiate the peace treaty that would end the Revolutionary War.

I believe that he succeeded in his peace talks because he played such a big and important role on everything that happened with France and Great Britain. If he weren’t a part of it, then most likely we wouldn’t have been able to make peace with France and get the outcome which was the Treaty of Paris. He also informed the Congress of all the daily events that were occurring with these foreign countries. In the end I believe all his hard work paid off and lead him to becoming the second president of our country.
